Hamilton
ALEXANDER HAMILTON: A 2-hour documentary for AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, featuring Tony Award-winning Broadway actor Brían F. O'Byrne as America's most controversial founding father. The program covers the full sweep of Hamilton's short life, one that had more than its share of heroism, scandal and tragedy. His legacy, though, was immense. He was the leading force behind the Constitution and chief advocate for a strong central government. He was the chief author of the Federalist Papers, which, as biographer Ron Chernow puts it, have been ”cited about three hundred times over the last two centuries by the Supreme Court, more than any other document. The Federalist Papers have almost acquired the authority of the Constitution itself, they’re cited so frequently.” As first Secretary of the Treasury, Hamilton was the architect of America's economy, rescuing the young country from bankruptcy after the Revolutionary War, creating the first national bank, establishing a national currency, founding the Coast Guard, and laying the groundwork for Wall Street.

Dancing:
Sex and Social Dance / The Individual and Tradition
SEX AND SOCIAL DANCE illustrates the sexual attitudes implicit in Western ballroom dance, sexually segregated social dancing in the Muslim culture of Morocco, and gender distinctions in the group dances of the Cook Islanders of the Pacific. Entertaining and often amusing, it explores a serious question —why dances that seem to be considered the height of refinement in one culture strike another culture as 'indecent.'
